Rough in F-Zero
Rough[1] is a patch of terrain found on several tracks, first found in F-Zero. There are different types of Rough; depending on the track, Rough can be either dirt, grass, or rocks. Driving through a patch of Rough terrain will slow down the machine, as well as drain their energy in most games. However, a driver can also Boost through it as a shortcut on occasion. In F-Zero X, these are known as Dart Zones[citation needed].
