Official Recorder
In F-Zero, the Official Recorder is like the referee of races. It is implied they are regulated by the F-Zero Execution Project. This entity is in charge of the pits and detecting Short Cut Fouls. It can also be seen if a pilot manages to fly from the White Land II track to the neighboring White Land I track. It is implied they issue reverse warnings for pilots driving in the wrong direction, although at the discretion of the Execution Project.
In F-Zero GX, only in Practice can a spaceship restore a machine back on the track if it is about to retire. This spaceship restores a machine to have up to half of its energy back, if below half at the time of rescue.
