Rick Wheeler #X is Rick Wheeler's alternative mission of the story in F-Zero: GP Legend. The mission can only be accessed if the player clears Rick Wheeler #4 with less than $1,000,000,000 in their winnings. The mission takes place in White Land and runs concurrently with Black Shadow #5.

Story

After rescuing Jody Summer, Rick gets challenged by Black Shadow to a race. Rick is then transported to White Land.

Upon defeating Black Shadow, he reveals that Rick just defeated a doppelganger of his. Some time later, Rick is pursuing Octoman once more, revisiting the scene from Rick's first mission.

Mission

Course map

The mission takes place on White Land: Flower II, where the player needs to finish first in the five-lap race against Black Shadow. Black Shadow is slow and does not handle turns well, so the player can easily overtake him in the first lap, even ending up overtaking Black Shadow by the final lap.

Prologue

Black Shadow: "Rick Wheeler! Accept my challenge!"

Black Shadow: "I'll show you an amazing course!"

Rick Wheeler: "Challenge???"

Rick Wheeler: "Whoa!!! Hu... Huh?!?"

Rick Wheeler: "Where am I all of a sudden?!?"

Black Shadow: "You will soon be wreckage, fool!"

Epilogue

Black Shadow: "You... You... YOU SCUM! I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!!!"

Black Shadow: "You just defeated an alter ego of mine! Don't boast!"

Black Shadow: "Unacceptable..."

Rick Wheeler: "Octoman!!! You won't escape me again!"

Rick Wheeler: "887 crimes... You're almost at triple eights!"

Rick Wheeler: "Zoda, you fiend! Next time!!!"

Rick's fight moves to the next stage...
