Dr. Stewart (Full Name: Robert Stewart) is the pilot of the Golden Fox, a machine designed by his father Kevin Stewart. Hailing from Mute City, Dr. Stewart is second in command of the Mobile Task Force, the team's doctor, and is Jody Summer's advisor.

Personality

Dr. Stewart is level headed and collected. Compared to his Mainverse counterpart, he is less arrogant, but retains his confidence. In Lap 3, after speeding past Baba to the finish line on Clifoto, Dr. Stewart mentions that his machine has an S-class booster. He also provides some occasional guidance to Ryu, and provides support to Jody as well.

He also feels a strong sense of responsibility, even taking action even if a situation wasn't entirely his fault. Such notable cases are seen in his reactions to Dark Million's control of Roy Hughes as Mighty Gazelle and, and to Blood Falcon's creation. In Lap 30, after realizing Dark Million used him to access his data while he was reviving Roy, Dr. Stewart develops a serum specifically to destroy Blood Falcon's cellular structure. However, he doesn't get the chance to use it on the clone or any of the ones that appeared later. In Lap 34, when Gazelle collapses after overexerting his energy to shield Clank from an explosion, Dr. Stewart swears to Clank that he will help his father recover.

History

F-Zero Farukon Densetsu (Anime)

Pre-2201

Dr. Robert Stewart worked in the field of robotics research, at a cyborg research facility owned by the Galactic Space Federation.

In the year 2198, following a Galaxy Police standoff with Dark Million, Dr. Stewart revived Jody Summer from a near fatal state. Jody became a cyborg, but her brother, Andy Summer, was unable to be saved. Dr. Stewart would be one of the few people, aside from the Galaxy Police higher ups, to know of Jody's partial cyborg reconstruction since the incident.

2201

After Jody determined the connection between Zoda's coldsleep revival to Ryu's past, she urged Dr. Stewart to revive Ryu from coldsleep. Dr. Stewart would inform her that Ryu was scheduled to be awakened in the year 2251, but Jody declared that she would persuade the Chief and leave the rest to the doctor. Despite concern from Galaxy Police Director John Tanaka, the revival process was successful.

Dr. Stewart and Jody greeted Ryu when he awoke from cold sleep, and later informed him that the New York he once knew is now referred to as Mute City. One month later, Dr. Stewart and Jody would be called to Tanaka's office to discuss Ryu's less than optimal performance, with Jody declaring that she would take full responsibility for whatever would happen onward. Dr. Stewart would question if she was certain of her decision, and Jody would ask him for what other choice they had.

Dr. Stewart was also present when the Task Force received a new member, Lucy Liberty.

2202

In Lap 28, Dr. Stewart was also brought forth to Dark Million, reviving Roy Hughes as a cyborg to save him (as Dark Million had Roy’s brain after the Heru incident), resulting in the creation of Mighty Gazelle.

During Lap 30, as Dr. Stewart realized what had caused Blood Falcon to be created, the Doctor intended to resolve things himself by creating a serum that would degenerate Blood Falcon's cells. He did not get to use it, however.

After Roy Hughes (as Mighty Gazelle) sacrificed himself to save his son from a bomb blast in Lap 34, Dr. Stewart swore he would do whatever he could to revive Roy once more.

In Lap 46, Dr. Stewart would tell Ryu about the "Legend of Falcon." He also apparently knew that Jody's brother, Andy Summer, was Captain Falcon the whole time, but tells Jody that she wasn't meant to know until the time was right.

He was present during the final battle against Dark Million in Lap 51.

2207

While he doesn't make an onscreen appearance in person during the 2207 F-Zero Grand Prix epilogue in Lap 51, the Golden Fox can be seen in the race lineup. Additionally, as Dr. Stewart had promised to revive Mighty Gazelle (Roy Hughes) to Clank back in Lap 34, Roy Hughes was seen in his human body besides an older Alias and Dr. Clash, confirming that Dr. Stewart had achieved successful results.

F-Zero GP Legend (GBA game)

In the F-Zero GP Legend GBA game, Dr. Stewart is a playable character with his machine, the Golden Fox. He makes appearances during a few of the Elite Mobile Task Force's (referred to as the Galaxy Mobile Platoon only in this game) members' story modes, but is not a major character himself.

Note: The word used for "director" does not match the word used for Tanaka in the anime, so this may refer to someone else, perhaps even the Galaxy Police Chief.
